New Junior Volunteer places available

Do have a child aged 5-14 years? Are they available on Thursday evenings?

Would they like to make new friends, learn new skills, do fun activities and volunteer in our community - all for free?

If yes, then why not join our free Junior Volunteers youth club?

We meet at every Thursday, 6pm-7.30pm at St John Church Hall, Atherton Rd, Hindley Green.

The club is open to children from any area - just come along, no need to book.

This week our Junior Volunteers will be enjoying another fun and educational First Aid session with Wayne Platt. We all had a great time last September learning CPR. This week the topic will be the recovery position and bandaging - watch out for the mummies !!

Please message Christine Lawler if you would like more information.

We also offer volunteering opportunities for Duke of Edinburgh Award students.

Welcome to Hindley Green Junior Volunteers

Hindley Green Junior Volunteers Club was established by Hindley & Hindley Green Community Action Group in the summer of 2021 as a free club for children aged 6-16 years.

We currently have over 25 members and are organised and operated by a team of adult volunteers, with a lead coordinator and are funded through grants and donations including the National Lottery and Forever Manchester.

Our purpose is to offer free, fun learning experiences whilst developing community minded young people to become community minded adults in the future.

The group meets one evening a week, Thursdays 6pm - 7.30pm at St Johns Church Hall, Hindley Green, with additional holiday and weekend sessions when possible.

The youngsters enjoy many activities including:

With the added benefit of an allotment they have learned gardening skills and that food doesn't just come in bags from the supermarket.

Not all the children want to get down and dirty so for those that don't we work on planting plans, signage, the scarecrows and our special fun features.

Our approach to being all inclusive has been applauded by the RHS, winning a top award in the RHS Northwest in Bloom competition 2 years running.
