Our Activities
Scarecrows
It was a rather boisterous and messy JVs scarecrow family making session last night but we have made progress. We have an almost complete Tom the Junior Volunteer, his part completed mum Barbara and of course not forgetting his dad, gardener Bob.

ClayHole Nature Talk
Huge thank you to Margaret Rowson, Friends of Westlake/Clayhole, for taking time out from caring for sick and injured ducks, to talk to the Junior Volunteers this evening. Margaret told us all about the swans, ducks, geese, moor hens and more that inhabit the Clayhole as the JVs did a tour of the Lake, identifying and counting the various water birds, viewing nest sites and scattering wildflower seeds. We all, JVs and Adult Supervisors alike, each learned something new..

Flourishing Friendship Garden
The Flourishing Friendship Garden and Junior Volunteers Sunflower Competition
The Flourishing Friendship Garden at Bamber Court is progressing nicely with lots of work by the staff, residents, Junior Volunteers and our adult Supervisors.
Most of the sunflowers are now planted and tagged for the JVs tallest sunflower competition - from right to left we have: Pamela-Rose, Preston, Luther, Layla, Christian, Maise, Neo, Luke, Oscar, William, Beau (awaiting tag), Ruby and Dayton (awaiting tag). The remaining sunflowers are still a little small but will be planted out soon and will catch up.
